- Ta Nehisi Coates' article on the black family - Coates is regularly featured in the Atlantic, and this article is very powerful.
- Tera Hunter, Work That Body - Lance kept asking about the issue of leisure and its importance for African Americans. Hunter is excellent on this subject.
