I did a bit of reading about racially segregated proms. If you're interested, I happened upon this documentary, Southern Rites. It tells a tragic story about the integration of a high school problem in Mount Vernon, Georgia. It's a follow up to a photo series taken by Gillian Laub for the New York Times. Pretty remarkable.
