Questions for wednesday.

Here are the questions I posed in class (slightly modified).  Think about how Anne Moody intersects with these ideas, because we need to discuss that section as well.  

1.  How do Baldwin and King narrate the times in which they are living? Are they angry, optimistic, energized, tired…? 

2. Time, patience, the past - the passing of time is important to all these individuals.  Why and what do they have to say about it?

3.  What does King have to say about Southern whites?

4.  In Baldwin’s essay, identify a particularly powerful passage.

5.  Let’s forget about history for a moment. What do Baldwin and King have to say to us... today... in the 21st century?
